How to Check your SIM Card Registration Status

With the several messages I've got, I need to show you the codes to check the sim registration status of your MTN, Glo, Airtel and 9Mobile SIM cards in Nigeria. With knowing your sim registration status, you will have the chance to find out whether you are to update your registration details before your sim gets blocked.

Registration of SIM cards is intended to help Telcos and the Government track GSM users in Nigeria. More so,It makes recovery of lost SIM cards very easy and further helps law enforcement agencies in finding crooks.

The following are the codes to check your if your number(s) has been properly registered and to know your  SIM card registration status.

  • MTN – Text REG to 789

  • Airtel – Dial *746#

  • 9Mobile – Dial 746 or 200

  • Glo– Text REG to 746 or 3456

How to Update SIM Registration Details

In case you checked the status of your sim and find out that your sim card isn't enlisted or registered, or that your details need to be updated, you can stroll in to a close by sim registration outlet to update your sim card details.

You should be aware that you will be asked your complete name, mother's original surname (Mother's maiden name), address and so on and your live photograph will be taken just as fingerprints.

After re-registration or updating of your details, you should use the codes shared above to confirm your sim registration status.
